What happens when people from all over the world come together to learn the unsystematic, prepositional, sound-loving language of Swedish?
Excuse us is a twisted and humorous dance performance; a total experience that forces you to face your own notions of identity, belonging and integration. The location is an SFI lesson. The student is you. The room is a chameleon that shifts between classroom, theatre stage and dream world. Here we encounter ideas about language confusion, miscommunication and linguistic limitations. Excuse us is a performance in lesson format that not only turns the Swedish language upside down, but also makes you laugh, marvel and learn new things.
It all boils down to a simple, yet hard-to-achieve wish: that people get to know each other.
