To be always available, to have several conversations at the same time and to be in a location other than the physical one. What happens to what we say when information exchange is continuous but increasingly fragmented?

In her solo performance Public Eremite, Charlotta Ruth takes a closer look at the behaviours, time perspectives and phenomena that arise from social media. When multitasking creates a kind of absent presence. What are the consequences when our bodies seem to be in several places at once?

The performance plays on a naïve and storytelling surface, but between sound, words and movement, it raises questions about the manipulation and handling of information.

Public Eremite was created in close collaboration with composer Johannes Burström and artist Clélia Colonna. The performance premiered at Tanzquartier in Vienna in 2013 and is now being performed for the first time in Swedish.
