After three years on the Professional Dancer Programme, the The Ballet Academy's final year students take their first steps into the world.
This year their final production is called AIM.
In May and June it will be shown on our small stage for no less than seven evenings.

CHOREOGRAPHERS OF THE YEAR

Roger Lybeck

Roger Lybeck is a successful choreographer who has worked at Dramaten, Kungliga Operan, Stockholms Stadsteater, GöteborgsOperan, Malmö Opera and Riksteatern. He has choreographed works such as 'Westside Story', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Les Miserables' and 'Cabaret' and directed the musicals 'Rent' and 'Avenue Q'. In addition, Roger Lybeck has worked on several major television productions such as "Idol" on TV4, "Grammisgalan" on SVT and "Rockbjörnen". Most recently, Roger has choreographed Shakespeare in Love at Stadsteatern and Så som i Himmelen at Oscarsteatern. Roger graduated from the Blett Academy's Professional Dancer Training Programme in 1986.

Peter Svenzon

PETER SVENZON - Composer, choreographer and AD of the transdisciplinary dance company Art of Spectra. Peter has also created dance works for institutions all over Europe. His work has been shown by the Gothenburg Opera, both by the Dance company (Frekvens) and in the musical West Side Story where he created new choreography. By Ballet Greifswald, Regionteater Väst (RTV), Norrdans (2018), Ballet Chemnitz (2019) Dansens Hus and others. He also works as a movement director for theatre, working alongside such directors as Lars Norén, Vibeke Bjelke, Niklas Hjulström and others. As a composer Peter creates music for theatre productions, artists and for film and TV.

Mari Carrasco

Mari Carrasco is a Stockholm based choreographer from Sweden/Chile. Carrasco graduated from Balettakademien Stockholm in 2008 and has studied at DOCH, the School of Dance and Circus and at the International Visa Programme at Dance New Amsterdam in New York.

Carrasco started to create work during her education and have been producing her own independent work from 2009. Since then Mari Carrasco has established herself as a well renowned choreographer in Sweden. She got her first national and international break through with her piece BARTOLOMEO. This piece has been performed all over Sweden and also toured the world with performances in New York, Tokyo, Okinawa, Amman, Ramallah, Capri, Madrid, Vilnius, Roskilde, Chur, Belfast and Helsinki. BARTOLOMEO also won the PRIX D'ASSITEJ 2013.

Carrasco's work span from many different types of choreographic concepts and contexts. She has worked with dancers, musicians and actors and created for both children/youth and adults. Mari Carrasco has made commission work for; NORRDANS, RIKSTEATERN, DANSSTATIONEN, UNGA KLARA and for THE BLACK BOX COMPANY in Denmark.

Carrasco works with a thinking and a physical body. Carrasco is interested in the movement research and the movement is always the driving engine in her pieces.

Lukas McFarlane  

Lukas McFarlane is a 25-year-old Creative/Choreographer from Canada. His career was skyrocketed when he was crowned the UK and Ireland's best dance act, winning Sky1's hit TV show, 'Got to Dance' in 2013 at just 19 years old. This led him to work with huge artists such as Carly Rae Jepson, Taylor Swift and Celine Dion early on in his career. But Lukas's passion always lied in creation and he is fast becoming a well-known and widely respected creative artist working as assistant creative director to none other than Brian Friedman on 'The X Factor' as well as choreographing on the show himself. Lukas has also choreographed for Strictly Come Dancing, being the first to introduce Contemporary on the show in 16 seasons, ITV's 'The Voice' and 'Change Your Tune'. He has worked with global brands such as GAP, LYNK&CO and UNIQLO and for international artists such as James Arthur, Pink, Vance Joy, Hayden Calnin, Saara Aalto and Gabrielle Aplin. He has worked on So You Think You Can Dance in 4 countries including the USA and is also well versed in creating live shows to audiences of more than 60 thousand at events like 'British Summer Time Hyde Park' and the 'Eurovision Song Contest'. He regularly shares his passion for teaching all over the World and is Founder and Creative Director of London based dance company UnTitled Dance Company who have performed there work to sold out audiences internationally.

Ambra Succi

Dance is my language. And I love to tell stories.

Ambra Succi is a dancer and choreographer, CEO and artistic director of Diambra Dans AB. Ambra is the choreographer who made a big impact in Sweden with the Bounce Streetdance Company and whose creative ideas took both Loreen and Robin Stjernberg to the top. Thanks to her background and experience, she has managed to make dance contacts all over the world. Now she runs her own business. And a whole new dance scene. Ambra Succis vision and passion has become reality! Ambra's most recent assignments include the Melodifestivalen, the Royal Opera, Folk Opera and her own productions at Dansens Hus.

Ambra graduated from the Professional Dancer Programme at the Ballet Academy in 1998.

Lighting design Palle Palmé

One of our most renowned lighting designers with the world as his workplace. Palle is the winner of the Guldmasken 2007 - Jury's Special Prize. He has also worked on the blockbusters "Danny Saucedo at Hamburger Börs", "Book of Mormon" at Chinateatern and "Mamma Mia The Party" at Tyrol as well as musicals such as Bullets Over Broadway, Hairspray, Flashdance and Phantom of the Opera. Palle has also done lighting design for shows with Lena Philipsson, Magnus Uggla, Gyllene Tider and Ulf Lundell and has done all of Joe Labero's shows around the world since 1991. He is now working on Tomas Ledin's new show at Cirkus.
