CONFLICT

After studying numerous kung fu films, Ida "Inxi" Holmlund and Alexandr "Sashdilla" Antochvili travelled to Hong Kong to learn from the masters themselves. With hip-hop, popping and years of experience in battles already under their belts, it was now time to perfect the southern Chinese kung fu style of Wing Chun.

What kung fu and battles have in common is determination, skill and a constant striving for improvement. Facing an opponent to be defeated without violence. It is from this inspiration that the work conflictwas created - a violence prevention duet and bodily conversation where participants respond to each other's impulses and create eclectic friction on the dance floor.

In autumn 2019, "Konflikt" will go on tour with Dansnet Sweden.

Soul Work

Hanna Jansson makes her solo debut at Dansens Hus with a "Soul Work".

Many people probably recognise Hanna Jansson from Fredrik Rydman's great audience successes "The Nutcracker" at Dansens Hus and "The Rite of Spring" at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern. Now she is coming to Dansens Hus for the first time as a solo dancer in her first own work "Soul Work - or it´s a fucking dance solo".

"My mental world is a beautiful mess. It is an endless conversation. It is a clutter of information and emotion, passing through non stop. It's exhausting. My mess is my strength and my weakness at the same time. This work is a study on what shape that mindspace has. It is a study on how to embody a mindfuck. The mess will dissolve and unwind. It will translate emotional discharge into physical form."
