Charlotte Engelkes (SWE) Lohengrin dreams
Three dancers, two acrobats and an opera singer in an epic work, packed in Engelke's marvelous and peculiar aesthetics.
Wagner, a swan-boat and lot of beliefs. Charlotte Engelkes continues to explore Richard Wagner and his operas with a confident touch of humour and craziness. After successes such as Miss Very Wagner and Siegfried – the Very Wagner Hero Hour, her next project is Lohengrin – an opera about false accusation, ridicule and restitution.
Engelkes introduces three dancers, two acrobats and one opera singer in an epic creation in a form of a dream. Lohengrin Dreams is a dance performance about faith and doubts, a struggle between the naïve and cruel, all of which is packed into Engelkes wondrous eccentric aesthetics. Perhaps one day he will arrive … Lohengrin … as in Wagner’s opera, floating on a Swan.
The premiere of Engelkes performance will take place at Norrlandsoperan on 23 November 2019. During the winter, the show will be touring around the country via Dansnät Sverige.
