It is now clear that choreographer Annica Styrke and dramaturge Karina Sarkissova will participate in the project MICRO AND MACRO DRAMATURGIES IN DANCE. The aim of the project is to develop and strengthen dramaturgy in contemporary dance and to clarify its cross-artistic characteristics. In addition to Dansens Hus, Tanec Praha (CZ), Anghiari Dance Hub/Marche Teatro (IT), Dans Brabant (NL) and Dance House Lemesos (CY) are also participating. The programme is supported by Creative Europe.
In 2020, theTwo more workshops will be organised, the first in Polverigi / Anghiari in Italy from 14-24 April and the second in Tilburg/Netherlands in early October. Meanwhile, the artistic work is ongoing through lectures, workshops, exchanges between the participants, the expert group and the local organisers.

MICRO AND MACRO DRAMATURGIES IN DANCE
Would you like to participate in a programme to develop your skills in dance dramaturgy? Micro and Macro Dramaturgies in Dance (MMDD) is an artistic development programme to support and promote dance dramaturgy in Sweden and Europe. Apply by 21 October at 23.55.
The 1-year project is led by Dansens Hus Stockholm (SE), Tanec Praha (CZ), Anghiari Dance Hub/Marche Teatro (IT), Dans Brabant (NL) and Dance House Lemesos (CY). The programme is supported by Creative Europe.
The project is aimed at choreographers who want to develop their knowledge of dramaturgy and dramaturges who want to deepen their knowledge of dramaturgy for dance. You can apply as a single dramaturg or choreographer or as a pair consisting of a dramaturg and a choreographer.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Choreographers who are at the beginning of their career but have already made some works of their own. We prioritise choreographers who are planning to carry out an artistic project in 2020 and want to work on it during the MMDD to try out new ideas and skills.
Dance dramaturgs who want to further develop their knowledge and methods in collaboration with a choreographer in a creative process. Or dramaturgs who have some experience of working in the field of dance or performing arts and who wish to strengthen their knowledge of dance dramaturgy. Or people who would not yet call themselves dance dramaturges but who wish to develop their knowledge in the field.
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME?
- Strengthen and deepen dramaturgical work in dance.
- Building bridges between micro and macro dramaturgy
- Investigate dramaturgy as a transnational practice between different art forms and articulate its value-creating characteristics and qualities.
- Raise awareness of the important role of dramaturgical practice in the field of dance.
- Strengthen the dance dramaturgy community in Sweden and internationally.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
- Tools and methods in dance dramaturgy. Through artistic work, lectures, workshops, exchange between the participants, expert group and the local organisers.
- An exploratory and reflective work based on a specific local community and its context: The work includes fieldwork, lectures, research and other events in and with the local community.
Two workshops will be organised during the year. The first will be held in Polverigi / Anghiari, Italy, 14-24 April 2020 and the second in Tilburg/Netherlands in early October 2020.
The project pays for travel, accommodation and food in connection with the workshops, as well as salaries.
CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION:
All participants commit to attending the MMDD workshop in Polverigi/Anghiari, Italy, 14-24 April 2020 and Tilburg/Netherlands in early October 2020 and a closing event of the project in Prague in mid-September 2021.
Knowledge of English is required.

HOW DO YOU APPLY?
Both choreographers and dramaturges can apply for the project. You can choose to apply alone or in a pair (one choreographer and one dramaturge).
