Shechter (b. 1975) started his career as a dancer with the renowned Batsheva Dance Company in Israel. In the early 2000s he moved to England and since 2008 he has had his own company, which has quickly become one of the world's most renowned and acclaimed.<\/p>\n
His first major work Political Mother premiered in 2010. Since then, he has choreographed 'Sun' (2013), 'Barbarians' (2015) and 'Show' (2018).<\/p>\n
He has also choreographed for other leading companies such as Batsheva Ensemble, Candoco Dance Company, Paris Opera Ballet, Gothenburg Opera and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.<\/p>\n
Shechter has also worked in theatre, television and opera. In 2016 he was nominated for a Tony Award for the choreography of the Broadway musical 'Fiddler on the Roof'.
