QUARTO is an artist duo founded in 2003 by Anna Mesquita and Leandro Zappala, living and working between two very different cultures - Brazil and Sweden. QUARTO engages in a long-term research with artists and researchers in interdisciplinary art, involving both theory and practice. Engaged in philosophical questions about power relations and the limits of the body, they seek to create thoughts and subjectivity through a radical, visual and physical experience.<\/p>\n
Since 2006, QUARTO has created two trilogies, not trilogies in the classic sense but rather a long-term research. Each part is independent and at the same time intertwined, creating a sense of coherence. The performance Beauty of Accident is the final part of the trilogy BEAUTY which now continues to develop in two new pieces, Durational Rope which premieres on 26 April at Moderna Museet in Stockholm and the installation currently on display at Dansens Hus Rope Installation.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
