You see them everywhere; the statues of kings and warriors on horseback. Stoic. Magnificent. Silently staring out at the world. But where are the women?<\/p>\n
This was the starting point for choreographer Anna K\u00e4llblad and artist Helena Bystr\u00f6m's work City Horses.<\/p>\n
Here, dance meets the public sculptures you pass every day in parks and squares. It is an urban choreography in constant motion - about power, existence and the female body in public space. A tribute, and at the same time a kind of monument, to the strength and courage of the horse girls, on a par with the riders on the horse statues around Europe.<\/p>\n
