Since ancient times, people have used various methods to improve their memory, such as taking an everyday story and retelling it in spectacular, beautiful or violent images. Anything to make the story more memorable. And it probably worked, because most of us remember the fantastic and shocking better than the ordinary. But why are some memories so strong and vivid, while others are simply forgotten?<\/p>\n
And what should we do, we who are tired of extravagant events? Those of us who prefer to dwell on the small and unimportant details, such as the change in weather last summer, the colour of the dogs we pass and the price of asparagus in May. What images should we use to remember what we want to remember?<\/p>\n
Gunilla Heilborn is known for her idiosyncratic performances that mix dance, the written word and visual material. Now she is back at Dansens Hus, this time on our main stage. I The Wonderful and the Ordinary<\/em> two dancers and three actors wander around the palace of memories in search of the quietly magnificent.<\/p>\n The show is a collaboration between Gunilla Heilborn and the Austrian theatre group Theater Im Bahnhof.<\/p>\n
