In Epif\u00f3nima, the ensemble works across borders and co-creatively with the creative team. The performance is a work of art created by everyone involved. The ensemble consists of seven female circus artists from Greece, Canada, Palestine, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland.<\/p>\n

\"It is less than a hundred years since women gained the right to vote in Sweden. In our ensemble there are those who still do not have the right to vote in their home country. Thanks to centuries of struggle, we have been able to create this show with an almost all-female creative team. Right to one vote - voting rights<\/strong>
The music is composed by Rebekka Karijord, who previously composed the music for Cirkus Cirk\u00f6r's performance Wear it like a crown. The music is mainly created by rhythms and female voices that Rebekka has collected from all corners of the world and which are mixed with the ensemble's own voices.<\/p>\n

Limits and restrictions<\/strong>
Epif\u00f3nima is a natural continuation of Tilde Bj\u00f6rfor's recent performances Borders, Limits and Movements, which focused on borders, limitations and migration.<\/p>\n

\"We have already seen what war creates and the deadlocks it leads to! In this production, we want to explore what happens if we break the traditional hierarchies, think in circles instead of right angles, see each other at eye level instead of from the top down, and walk in widths instead of rows.\" - Tilde Bj\u00f6rfors\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Tilde Bj\u00f6rfors and Cirkus Cirk\u00f6r's production Epif\u00f3nima is inspired by women's voices, aspirations and ways of creating and organising themselves. The role models range from the goddess Ishtar<\/a>, Hildegard of Bingen<\/a>, The Begin movement<\/a> and Pocket magazine R<\/a> to today's fighters who Fatemeh Khavari<\/a>\u00a0and Tarana Burke<\/a>. We want to highlight and celebrate the courage and values that have been required to bring about change. In humble admiration, we link ourselves to the long chain of women who have paved the way for us to be where we are today, with the ability to look forward.<\/p>\n
