Kenneth Kvarnstr\u00f6m is one of the most experienced contemporary dance choreographers in the Nordic countries. In the early 2000s, he was head of theatre at Dansens Hus for a number of years and has been at the centre of Swedish dance for three decades. Now he is back, this time with a dance work in which he cross-fertilises dance with visual art and piano music.<\/p>\n

The four dancers Ida Holmlund, Matthew Branham, Anton Borgstr\u00f6m and Ole Kristian Tangen.<\/strong> are some of the best of their generation. They are four differences that meet, separate and combine in new constellations. Together with Kenneth, who also appears on stage, they create a collage in dissolution.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The show is set to music by the prominent German musician and composer Nils Frahm<\/strong>, known for his way of combining piano music with electronics. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Kenneth Kvarnstr\u00f6m has a unique position in Swedish dance life, both as a beloved choreographer and as a leader of major dance institutions such as Dansens Hus and Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm. He has often worked with his own K. Kvarnstr\u00f6m & Co, but has also created commissioned works for the Sydney Dance Company and G\u00f6teborgsOperans Danskompani, among others. .<\/p>\n

During his long career, he has been awarded, among other things, the Cullberg Scholarship<\/em> (2003), Swedish Theatre Critics Association's Dance Award<\/em> (2008), The Pro Finlandia Medal<\/em> (2011) and The Gannevik Scholarship <\/em>(2016).<\/p>\n

After a long break from the stage, he is now looking forward to meeting the audience again.<\/p>\n

Kenneth Kvarnstr\u00f6m has a unique position in Swedish dance life, both as a beloved choreographer and as a leader of major dance institutions, including Dansens Hus. Kenneth Kvarnstr\u00f6m is a Finnish-Swedish choreographer, dancer, and professor.<\/p>\n

He trained as a dancer at Balettakademien and in 1987 founded his own dance company K. Kvarnstr\u00f6m & Co. His productions have also been performed by many other companies around the world, including the Sydney Dance Company, the Helsinki Dance Company and the Gothenburg Opera Dance Company. He has been a professor of art in Finland, director of Dansens Hus and director of dance at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm. Kenneth Kvarnstr\u00f6m is considered one of the Nordic region's foremost choreographers in contemporary dance.
