Coordinating movements and adapting to a group is something we see everywhere - in nature, in human society and down to the smallest atomic and ionic level (ion). Is it that we coordinate voluntarily? Unwillingly? Or does it happen through some mysterious algorithm?<\/p>\n

Christos Papadopoulos explores how humans deal with the dual nature of being an individual and a pack animal. How do people who form a group shift from unity to community? Christos studies how humans behave when we try to reach a common sounding board, adapting to the movements of others to fit in.<\/p>\n

In 'ION' you will meet 10 dancers in a performance where dance becomes an optical illusion to meditate on. What seems directed is always the result of human choices. What you see are the individual dancers' choices to adapt to the group. And you see it because you have made the active choice to come to tonight's collective performance.<\/p>\n

Christos Papadopoulos<\/h2>\n

Christos Papadopoulos studied dance and choreography at the SNDO (School for New Dance Development) in Amsterdam, theatre at the National Theatre of Greece, drama at the GNT Drama School and political science at Panteion University. His work ELVEDON was the first choice of the pan-European network Aerowaves 16. OPUS - another of his distinctive works - was chosen by Aerowaves 18. His latest and critically acclaimed work for 10 artists - ION was commissioned by the Onassis Cultural Centre in Athens and premiered in Athens in February 2018.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
