Efva Lilja in five decades of artistic endeavour.

From north to south in our oblong country. From experimental performance spaces to opera houses and metropolises around the world. From polar expeditions in the Arctic ice, from Harleygarage to meetings with kings and presidents. From growing up in a small town to becoming a global citizen and dancer, choreographer, activist and champion of an art form that is often marginalised. Her work fascinates, provokes and above all engages people.

Efva Lilja is a choreographer, dancer, researcher and writer, she has been awarded a large number of honours, including the Gannevik Scholarship, the St. Erik Medal and His Majesty the King's Medal Litteris et Artibus.

In this episode of the Dansens Hus podcast, choreographer Efva Lilja talks to Erik Mattsson, deputy museum director and curator, about the good life, the state of the arts now and then and turning 70 in life and 50 on stage.
