With his company Far From The Norm, English star Botis Seva has taken the different parts of street dance apart; from break dance, popping, krump and house, and put them together into his very own style of hip hop dance theatre.
The new show Until we sleep is a dark, hard-boiled and atmospheric adventure; a collage of stories of resistance and change. We meet a feathered flock, perhaps they are warriors, on an arduous trek through time and space. Torben Sylvest's eclectic music alternates between vocal and soundscapes. Percussion and beats are mixed with guttural sounds that transform the stage into an eerie and ghostly universe.
"We challenge perceptions of Hip Hop and create work that empowers marginalised people"

About Botis Seva
Botis Seva was born in London and started dancing at the age of 15. After dropping out of Dagenham College after her first year, she chose Botis to pursue his choreographic career off the beaten track. In 2009 he founded the company Far From The Norm. The group quickly established a reputation as a cutting-edge company that bravely and boldly experimented with street the different styles and elements of dance. Botis Seva himself has always had a strong desire to make an impact on society and use his autobiographical experiences to drive stories.
His big break came in 2019 with the show BLKDOG, which won the 2019 Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production. BLKDOG was shown at Dansens Hus in autumn 2022 when it also toured Sweden in collaboration with Dance network Sweden.
