Dansens Hus is the largest guest performance centre for contemporary dance in the Nordic region. Every year we present between 30-40 national and international guest performances on our stages, as well as a number of residencies and co-productions. In addition, we work to develop artistry in various ways to create and present dance to our audience. Right now we are in an exciting phase of operations with a move back to newly renovated stages and premises at Norra Bantorget within 2024-2025, while we are currently operating with Elverket as the main stage and in addition a number of other stages and collaborations.

Content of the role

Dansens Hus offers a varied scenic work with a wide range of external contacts. The work mainly involves the planning and realisation of guest performances and technical residencies, and each production presents new challenges. You are part of a competent team that is jointly responsible for the entire stage technology area. The work also includes daily maintenance of premises, storage and equipment. Order and tidiness are highly prioritised. If necessary, you supervise colleagues in other areas of expertise, as well as auxiliary staff.

What is important for the role?

We are looking for people who have solid knowledge in the field of lighting technology, as well as broad general knowledge in the field of stage technology. It is required that you have education or solid experience of similar tasks. Knowledge of programming commonly used light tables and knowledge of drawing programmes for lighting is a plus. You are used to working independently and can plan resources and be responsible for the realisation of performing arts productions. Since we have many international guests and employees, knowledge of English or other languages is a merit. You have good computer skills and an eye for what needs to be done in everyday life. You must be open to changing circumstances and re-prioritise tasks if necessary. You have good social skills and enjoy interacting with other staff in the workplace. The role requires you to be structured, driven and responsible with an eye for the big picture. A high level of safety awareness is an absolute requirement.

Scope of the service

The position is permanent with an initial probationary period of 6 months.

Starting on 1 August 2024 or by agreement.

Working hours are organised according to the needs of the business and regulated by collective agreements.
