Based on a novel by Judith Schalansky, The List of Some Losses is about the echoes that historical losses leave behind, such as failed human projects, lost books, extinct animal species or sunken islands.

All are the fragments from which we construct our heritage and our memory. The performance is an exploration of the lost and of historical ripples in the form of phantom pains. In the set, a series of disappearances will be created and staged through contemporary magic. The plot is metaphorical and is realised on many different levels through the choreography of puppets and objects interacting with circus artists and puppeteers. The music is specially composed and plays a major role in the narrative machinery of the performance.

Kompani Giraff is a contemporary Swedish circus company, active since 2011, that creates visual and idiosyncratic circus performances with a passion for the magic of everyday life.
