A grown man and a small child. One has already travelled a long way. The other wants to grow up as quickly as possible. To the sound of Gregorian chant, VICTOR paints an intimate and delicate portrait of a relationship.

Without words, the two performers lift, carry and challenge each other. Sometimes in playful harmony, sometimes in an unequal power struggle. VICTOR is an evocative duet where the audience is not given any clear answers about the relationship between the two performers. It is a mesmerising and clever play with cultural norms, a small-scale story about being big and honest, strong and innocent, but above all about wanting to be close.

Belgian choreographer Jan Martens is collaborating for the first time with theatre director and actor Peter Seynaeve. On stage are 13-year-old Victor Caudron and dancer Steven Michel. The show has been a hit with critics and audiences alike, and has played to sold-out houses across Europe. Now it is finally coming to Sweden!

About Jan Martens

Choreographer and dancer Jan Martens has worked as a dancer in several Belgian companies, including United-C and Ann Van den Broek. He graduated from the Artesis Conservatory for Dance in Antwerp in 2006. Since 2009 he is also active as a choreographer with several international successes behind him, most recently THE DOG DAYS ARE OVER and SWEAT BABY SWEAT. In his work he wants to emphasise the beauty of human imperfection, rather than physical virtuosity.

In 2013 and 2014 he has a residency at the International Choreographic Arts Centre ICK Amsterdam.
