Hip hop and raw excellence, in Attitudes audiences will be treated to a whole palette of street styles from Sweden, France and Spain.
A trio and two duos take the stage and deliver street, breaking and acrobatics as well as capoeira and house. An evening that offers three scenic expressions - each with its own energy.
Behind Attitudes is a unique international network of partners including Norrlandsoperan in Sweden, HOP festival in Spain and Collectif FAIR-E in France who have jointly co-produced the three-part evening of performances.
Majeko - Chasing butterflies
Majeko is a Sweden-based dance collective consisting of core members Kaide Gonzalez, Marcus "Mackie" Larsson and Ida "Inxi" Holmlund. In connection with the Attitudes project, the group is strengthened by Fredrika "Freddie" Burvall, who temporarily replaces Inxi.
Chasing butterflies explores the interplay between being and striving. In an age where productivity often defines our worth, the performance examines the tension between dynamic ambition and patient presence. The dancers' movements navigate between drive and stillness, each step a reflection of the human quest for balance. Chasing butterflies reflects our experiences and reminds us that none of us is alone on this journey.
Iron skulls - MIRAR
Spanish Iron Skulls Co, whose distinctive style blends hip-hop, breaking, acrobatics and contemporary dance with influences from design, fashion, music and martial arts.
Mirar examines the relationship between the observer and the observed - a nerve-wracking game in which glances meet, slip away, collide and shape. A gaze is never neutral, it weaves meanings, projects narratives and moulds realities. With body, movement and presence, the performance explores how we project meaning, fill voids and build stories - not only about others, but also about ourselves.
Kaê Brown Carvalho & Jerson Diasonama - Jogo de dentro
Kaê Brown Carvalho & Jerson Diasonama from France, with backgrounds in capoeira, contemporary dance and freestyle, create a unique scenic universe.
Jogo de dentro tells the story of the encounter between two hip-hop dancers from different cultures. The title of the performance, which literally translates to 'inner game', is inspired by the Angolan dance form capoeira and captures the dynamic interaction of Kaê Brown Carvalho and Jerson Diasonama. Through their movement and expression, a playful struggle for identity, culture and belonging is created. Join them on a journey where the cultural paths of Angola, Portugal, Brazil and France meet and cross.
The project Attitudes - Hip hop across Europe is part of Creative Europe and co-funded by the European Union. Maeko's work is co-produced by Dansnät Sweden and Attitudes touring within Dance Network 2025.
