Since 2019, Jefta van Dinther has been Cullberg's resident choreographer. After two great works for the company, Plateau Effect (2013) and protagonist (2016), he is now coming to Dansens Hus/Elverket with On Earth I'm Done: Mountains - his first solo work for Cullberg. The theme revolves around the question of how we can continue to love our ever-changing planet.
As human beings, we are constantly haunted by how our culture, our humanity, has come to affect the planet we inhabit. Our discomfort is directed both downwards and upwards - towards the depletion of the earth as well as the shrinking of the sky. Mountains revolves around the question of how can we continue to love our ever-changing planet? The dancer on stage is a medium - a transformer who, using her body as an instrument, conjures up a lament on our behalf. Its existence arises from the connection between the physical, biological and anthropological - between gravitational forces, instincts and desires.
The performance is danced by alternating two dancers: Freddy Houndekindo and Agnieszka Sjökvist Dlugoszewska.
Wednesday 10 and Friday 12 November: Freddy Houndekindo
Thursday 11 and Saturday 13 November: Agnieszka Sjökvist Dlugoszewska.
