22 conference chairs and one extremely dedicated man form the basis of this intelligent and playful solo. PLI strikes a fine balance between madness and commitment.

Viktor Černický is the multidisciplinary artist who has taken the performing arts field by storm from the very beginning of his career. He has stunned audiences with his refreshing ideas and won awards for his unique style. He has been called both a visionary and a future hope for the performing arts. 

PLI is Černický's second work, a thrilling performance that challenges the conventions of theatre. With enormous patience and a touch of madness, Černický stacks his chairs one by one until they form magnificent fragments of architecture or imaginative sculptures. 

With the clever combination of an unassuming room and a plethora of chairs, the show has the ability to be minimalist and grandiose at the same time. PLI is an unpredictable and humorous performance that balances between madness and engagement.

Viktor Černickýs

Multidisciplinary artist Viktor Černický creates works that push the boundaries of the contemporary performing arts field. His works balance between dance, performance, circus and physical theatre. He leads a long-term research project that explores the dynamic relationship between objects and the subjective individuality of the performer.

His very first solo, Parolapolea, got him nominated for both Dancer of the Year and Dance Performance of the Year at the Czech Dance Platform 2017. Two years later, his work PLI was completed, and like his previous work, Černický was showered with awards. The work was selected for Aerowaves Twenty20 and has since been touring extensively.
