LOVETRAIN2020 is Emanuel Gat's celebration of the human need for movement, community and expression. Experience a colourful and emotional dance performance where Emanuel Gat transforms the stage into a pulsating time machine. Featuring iconic hits from Tears for Fears - like Mad World, Shout and Everybody Wants to Rule the World - invites LOVETRAIN2020 on a choreographic feast that combines nostalgia with innovative dance.
Gat's unique style combines precision with freedom, as the dancers move between intense group sequences and intimate solos. Costume designer Thomas Bradley has created spectacular costumes that evoke the splendour of the Baroque era, adding to the visual power of the show.
The performance alternates between silence and musical explosions, creating a dynamic that keeps the audience captivated from beginning to end. It is a celebration of the body, movement and life itself - an experience that is both physical and emotional.
Pop groups Tears for Fears iconic 80s sound (with songs like Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Shout, Sowing the Seeds of Love) runs like a red thread throughout the work and has served as a direct source of inspiration for the choreography.
The Emanuel Gat Dance company is based in Marseille and LOVETRAIN2020 premiered at Montpellier Danse in France in 2020.

About Emanuel Gat
Emanuel Gat began his career as a musician before dance took over. He founded Emanuel Gat Dance in Tel Aviv in 2004 and has since created over 40 works.
In his process, the dancers are often co-creators and the works are characterised by a close interplay between music, light and movement. Gat is known for seamlessly blending the conceptual with the emotional - as in LOVETRAIN2020, where he pays tribute to Tears for Fears with pulsating precision and tenderness.

About Tears for Fears
British pop duo Tears for Fears consists of band members Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal. Formed in the early 80s, the band achieved great success with classics such as Everybody Wants to Rule the World and Shout.
With grand arrangements and psychological lyrics about emotions, they made a huge impact on the pop world when they broke through. Their music has continued to influence new generations of artists - and choreographers.

LOVETRAIN2020 is a subtle blend, a touch of baroque for the costumes, influences from Egyptian civilisations and India, all on pop music from the 1980s, Emanuel Gat achieves a stunning choreographic mix.
LOVETRAIN2020 is marvellous, a rambunctious yet rigorously staged piece for 14 dancers, set to tracks by the British pop group Tears for Fears (big in the '80s), outlandishly costumed by Thomas Bradley: ruffles, peculiar shapes, huge shirts, missing parts of clothes, plaid mixed with satin. [...] LOVETRAIN2020 is everything the small-scale, often sombre work made for video during the past months is not. It's loud, joyous, physical, close. A celebration of the body, of performance, of life.
