Acclaimed Mozambican choreographer Panaibra Canda offers two intense dance encounters.

Since reclaiming its independence from Portugal in 1975, Mozambique has been a socially and politically divided country with a fragile democracy. Contemporary Mozambique, with issues of pluralism, nationality and freedom of expression, is always at the centre of award-winning choreographer Panaibra Gabriel Canda's work. They are shown all over the world and now two of his performances are coming to Dansens Hus.

First up, The Marrabenta Solos from 2010:
Accompanied by guitarist Jorge Domingos, Panaibra Canda dances and talks about the contemporary African body: a post-colonial body characterised by ideals of nationalism, modernity, socialism and freedom of expression. This is the story of his own history, identity and body, as well as of his native Mozambique.

Don't miss it! On 9 April, Panaibra Canda's performance will also be shown. Point of intersection
