After dancing for over 50 years, choreographer Astad Deboo can still blow you away. Trained in the Indian classical dance styles of Kathak and Kathakali and in contemporary dance in London, New York and several European cities, Astad Deboo has developed a unique, minimal yet lyrical dance style.

In 'Dance Expression', he will take to the stage himself to present a sixty-minute work that has been described as a poetry in dance, weaving movements within the dance forms he has mastered.

Astad Deboo is a pioneer of contemporary dance in India. Throughout his long and illustrious career, he has worked with artists such as Pina Bausch and Alison Becker Chase. He has choreographed Maya Plisetskaya; prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre Ballet Company, worked with Pink Floyd in London, the Gundecha brothers and Pung Cholom dancers in Manipur. Now he is at Dansens Hus for the first time and invites you into his magical world!
