Football chants fill the room. A sea of supporters’ scarves bearing the colours of clubs from every corner of the world – the major ones, the famous ones, the absurd ones and the provincial ones – is transformed into flags, masks and prayer mats. Step inside the pulsating football stand – a seething borderland where football culture, political protest and popular culture collide.
Drawing on his background in graffiti and breakdancing, he creates Moritz Ostruschnjak i NON + ULTRAS A physical and visual whirlwind. Colourful, boisterous and unpredictable. This is where Swifties and ultras, police riots and mascots, Arabic songs and Beethoven all come together. A wild party can turn into a riot in the blink of an eye. The collective ecstasy teeters on the fine line between unparalleled camaraderie and fanaticism.
Ostruschnjak takes us on a journey that leads us through both euphoria and anxiety. A journey where joy and unease intermingle in an ever-shifting dynamic between the group and the individual, between silence and raucous commotion.
