In the performance MASC choreographer Sofia Södergård portrays an intense longing for love. A longing we all carry with us, but which can have many different faces. With a feminist perspective and queer stories, she takes us on a charged journey through masculinity and femininity, same-sex love, domestic violence and the struggle for freedom.

In a mix of reality and fiction, Södergård combines drama, fantasy, seriousness, humour and absurdity. From kitchen sink realism to escapist club nights - in MASC reveals a life where a polished facade hides a painful reality.

Workshop

In this workshop, participants explore with Sofia Södergård how to mix queerness, masculine and feminine body language, expressions and social codes, thereby "hacking the social system" and mixing these. Using techniques from drag queen and king, we start building a character and explore ourselves and the relationship to the others in the room.

Participants will work with objects/subjects, clichés and stereotypes and reflect on this. No preparation or prior knowledge is required. The workshop is from 15 years old.
