How much of politics is in body language? And what happens to the rhetoric when the body suddenly says something completely different?
Your Majesties is based on the acceptance speech Barack Obama gave in Oslo in 2009 when he received the Nobel Peace Prize. With equal parts absurd and subtle humour, the duo Navaridas & Deutinger recreate and deconstruct a piece of world history. Alex Deutinger delivers the speech to the audience, but it is Marta Navaridas who determines his movements.
A quirky and thought-provoking commentary on political power. Rhetoric has never been this much fun!
Navaridas and Deutinger are members of The Loose Collective who visited Dansens Hus in 2013 with their acclaimed performance The Old Testament According To The Loose Collective.
