Three unreasonably flexible circus performers navigate an unwieldy pile. They change shape, dissolve and reinvent themselves in startling formations. Through circus, humour and magic, The Pile tells the story of the contradiction of wanting to belong, and at the same time longing to break free.

Kompani Giraff invites young audiences to a work inspired by an absurdist and surrealist art tradition. Through spectacular, movement-based fabric sculptures, existential themes of growth, resistance and liberation are explored.

Kompani Giraff is back again at Dansens Hus after the audience successes Clouds (2022) and A Study of Losses(2024).

The performance is recommended for children from middle school and their adults.

The work premieres on our Studio Stage, and is co-produced by Dansens Hus

About the Kompani Giraff

Kompani Giraff is a Stockholm-based contemporary circus company that creates visual and idiosyncratic circus performances with a passion for the magic of everyday life. With an innovative and playful design language, they explore the panorama of contemporary circus and make inventive and engaging performances for a young audience where contemporary circus, magic and object manipulation meet in a scenic universe unlike any other. Together with a hand-picked ensemble, the three artistic directors create unique performances with the visual elegance, soft magic and clever choreography that is today the hallmark of Kompani Giraff.
