Delicate expression meets raw power in the duet. HOLD. Rooted in the aesthetics of hip-hop, it explores the human need for connection and the desire for closeness and intimacy.
Together with dancers Anton Borgström and Robin Sundberg, director and choreographer Erik Linghede twists and turns different dance expressions. They weave together styles such as popping, tutting and waving in a search for untapped movement potential.
In the course of their work, the dancers have used different emotional expressions and relationships at different stages. They have also explored historical events when humanity felt it was on the right track but needed to re-evaluate its beliefs. With a foundation in the improvisational core of hip hop and a strong focus on sensitivity and communication, HOLD explores an expression and language beyond norms and clichés.
Erik Linghede is a dancer, choreographer and producer. With one foot in the beat world and one as an event producer, he is one of street dance Sweden's true pioneers and innovators. Erik is also one of the artistic directors of the circus and dance company Poetry in Motion.
Erik Linghede is in residence at Dansens Hus this autumn.
