In the new solo "Kalagni" - the destructive fire of the goddess of death Kali - Virpi Pahkinen enlists the help of another distinctive artist. The Iranian-American singer Sussan Deyhim hums, gasps, sounds and sings with a strangely multifaceted voice that adds another dimension to Virpi Pahkinen's mythical half-hour solo. Here, body and voice meet and become a meditative and physically sounding encounter between two strong force fields in motion: the voice and the body.
