Surrounded by a comfortable darkness, everyone in the audience puts on headphones and participates on their own terms. The story and the music you hear will spark your imagination and maybe even your body in motion.
Choreographer and dancer Rani Nair takes you on a mesmerising journey - an experience of a dance work that she herself inherited almost two decades ago. Since then, she has been working on the piece, exploring dance history, feminism, reverence and rebellion.
Almost 50 years ago, German dance pioneer Kurt Jooss created his final work, Dixit Dominus, to Handel's classic choral piece of the same name. The solo was created with and for Lilavati Häger, a prominent Indian dancer living in Sweden. After her death in 2002, the work was passed on to another dance artist with Indian roots, Rani Nair from Skåne.
