In autumn 2024 and spring 2025, Dansens Hus offers three technical production residencies in Hallen / Farsta and at Elverket. The deadline for applications was 3 March 2024.

(English version below)

The residency can be used both for the final process of a new work, or as an artistic lab to develop new ideas. The room can be used in different ways and does not have to be used in a stage/salon format. It is therefore possible to apply for a residency for projects that are intended for both large and small theatre spaces.

We would like the residency to include some form of public screening or other public activity. The residency does not guarantee that the production will be shown at Dansens Hus in the future.

The residency periods:

  • November 2024: V 47 and V48 in Hallen/Farsta.
  • January 2025: 2 weeks on Elverket
  • March 2025: 2 weeks on Elverket

Dansens Hus offers:

  • Two-week technical production residency, which includes technical work on set design, lighting and sound with technicians from Dansens Hus.
  • Production funds of SEK 50,000 to be paid by invoice.
  • Access to existing technology and a smaller budget for technology rentals.

Please note that the residence at Hallen/Farsta implies limitations in the possibilities to rig lights.

Application:

  • Desired period(s) of residence
  • A short production presentation (max 1 A4)
  • Describe how you want to work with technology during the residency. What do you think you will achieve during the residency?
  • Proposal for residency planning/schedule
  • Budget for the residency period
  • Premiere date and list of other planned screenings, possible co-producers and collaborations.
  • Comprehensive contact list and CV
  • Work samples from previous artistic work in the form of filmed material or similar.
  • Moving material in the form of Youtube and/or Vimeo clips, or other links (if available).

In order to ensure good conditions for the residency, we would like the applicant choreographer/performing artist to have a producer, light and sound designer attached to the production.

The selection is made by a reference group consisting of the Dansens Hus Programme Council and external curators.

The decision on who gets the residency will be announced by 2 April 2024 at the latest via email. If you have questions about the call for proposals, you are welcome to contact Maria Härenstam, producer Dansens Hus, email address: [email protected]
