"These robots can't feel, but we feel for them ..."

Kate Darling, The New Breed: What Our History with Animals Reveals about Our Future with Robots (Henry Colt & Co 2021)

The Companion is a private encounter between a person and a robotic dog. In this performance, the robot engages the human participant in various interactions, games and negotiations. The encounter between man and machine explores our inherent curiosity and empathy towards all creatures that move. Are we ready to surrender to - and trust - a non-human companion?

The show is for one person at a time and you are alone with the dog in the show room.

Children aged 5-12 can participate in an adapted version accompanied by an adult. Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled performance time, no late arrivals.
