10 May

10:00

Do you like street dance? Are you curious about what it looks like on a dance stage? Do you like to create? On 10 May, we invite young and old to discover Dansens Hus.

Become a stage designer for a day
Together with set designer Linda Irenedotter Ingemansson, you can learn more about how a set designer works, watch rehearsals on the main stage and try your hand at being a set designer by building your own mini stage. The scenography workshop is open between 10.30 and 16.30. Linda has a briefing at 10.30, 12.30 and 14.30. Free of charge. Age from 6 years and up. No pre-registration.

Dance stop with Errol Dobreva
Do you like to dance? Welcome to the dance floor with street dancer Errol Dobreva. When the music plays, we dance all we can; when it stops, it's important to stay still as quickly as possible. Free of charge. The dance floor is open between 10.30 and 16.00. Free of charge. Suitable for all ages.

What does it sound like when we move?
Usually it is the dancer who moves to the music. In the Inverted Loop installation, it's the other way round: you control the sound through your movements. One of the two Italian artists who made the installation, Franscesca Mariotti, will be there to show you how it works. Free of charge. Suitable for all ages.

Performance, Garbage room:
A performance where children (4-7 years old) encounter a pile of rubbish that suddenly comes to life and transforms into a stage space of colour, shape and imagination. Instruments and movements emerge from the pile as the performance builds with the children at the centre of the action.
Performance times: 10.00, 13.00, 15.00 (small stage) Book a ticket here

Workshop, try Hip hop!
Urban Connection offers fun and energetic dance classes for children (4-7 years old) where they can challenge their body control, sense of rhythm and style based on the expression of street dance. Here they can playfully, excitingly and interactively explore the genre and find their own dance under the guidance of street dancers and dance educators Lovisa Owén and Emelie Empo Enlund.
Workshop times: 11.00, 14.00, 16.00(Small stage) Book a ticket here

HOLD - VIDEO INSTALLATION
Dive into the sea of cushions and look up at the ceiling. Here you can see the film HOLD by Erik Linghede, a dance film about the longing for closeness and the need to create meaning and context. In HOLD, different dance styles are woven together such as popping, tutting and waving. The installation is open 10.00 - 16.00. Free of charge. No pre-registration.
