Three choreographies with completely different expressions - a rich smorgasbord of pieces from the breadth and variety of contemporary dance. In one and the same evening, you can enjoy works by choreographer Mats Ek, who has put Sweden on the world map of dance, together with 20-year-old Norrdans.

NO DANCING
Get to know one of the world's top choreographers, his down-to-earth humour and distinctive movement language. I Dance Step Mats Ek's 20-year-old company Norrdans combines angular gestures with music to create their own universe on a dance floor.

"Mats Ek's exuberant Pas de danse, inspired by Benny Andersson's and Björn Ulvaeus' cheerful accordion swing, is given real body in Björn Nilsson's quick-footed, confident interpretation of the dance floor's big ego. Charming and stubborn, he wipes snot with his fist and dances his arse off." /Anna Ångström in SvD 11 December 2008

"The work is a small humorous scherzo, which to folk music - harmonica, accordion and violin - seems to illustrate the mating game of the dance floor." /.Helsingborgs Dagblad, 22 October 2008

BLACK FAIRYTALE #2

Med Black Fairytale #2 Israeli choreographers Yossi Berg and Oded Graf take us on a highly topical roller coaster ride. We are thrown between war and love, between dreams and harsh reality. In this musical choreography for eight dancers, Norrdans also presents a manifesto for a future Utopia.

"Black Fairytale digs beneath the shiny surface and explores less discussed issues such as prejudice and racism".The Copenhagen Post, 11 May 2012

"Razor-sharp with intricate layers, lyrics that masquerade as clichés and wrapped in an astute awareness with a delightful wink."/. The Jerusalem Post, 21 August 2012

YXA Premiere!

Mats Ek is staging his new work under his own direction. YXA with dancers Anna Laguna and Yvan Auzely. The work features music by Tomaso Albinoni performed live by the Pork Quartet.
