Meet two companies in the same evening! Urban Connection offers an exclusive double bill with P*fect's norm-breaking dance that questions stereotypes and identity. And a big visit from Montreal with the contemporary hip hop duo Tentacle Tribe. P*fect was formed in 2006 and consists of Bianca Traum, Michel Franco, Sofia Södergård, Anna Näsström, and Bambam Frost, together they create stage works based on the dance styles of voguing and wacking as well as the glamorous form of the fashion world. They are inspired by the famous drag queen RuPaul's expression "We were born naked, the rest is drag" which largely influences the group's approach to stage costume. Indeed, costume is another way for P*fect to express themselves and their personality, as clothing itself is coded for the group. The performance Imprint, which plays at Dansens Hus, is about prejudice and injustice in various forms, and how society and the opinions of others colour us. With a tough attitude and a consistently racial and gender perspective, P*fect rebels against the Swedish law of jingoism - just right is best. By sticking out their chins, taking up space and being themselves, they want to inspire the audience to dare to stand up for themselves and affirm their personality.

What is Vouging?
The dance of voguing, with its model-like poses, originated in the ballrooms of Harlem in the 1960s where African and Latin American homosexuals, bisexuals and transgender people met and competed in different genres of moves. The golden age of the subculture is usually attributed to the late 1980s ball culture in New York, and now the dance style is landing in Stockholm at Dansens Hus Stora scen under the direction of P*fect.
